ABSTRACT
Malaman
zaure are the Hausa traditional Islamic scholars, who usually stay at
the entrance hall (zaure) of their houses where they gather students and teach
them. The profession of Malaman zaure is called Malantaka
or Malanta.
This Paper titled Malaman Zaure da
Gudummawarsu a Harshen Hausa is divided into two parts. The first part
consist an introduction and brief explanation about Hausaland, Hausawa and their
architectural system. The paper also discussed on the brief history of Islamic
education system and the effort of some Islamic scholars in educating Hausa
people which led to what produced Malaman zaure. The second part of
the paper discusses the teaching methods of Malaman zaure and
classification of their students, as well as their contributions to Hausa with
respect to consonant and vowel modification, translation and word formation.
